Climbing Mt Kidd with my buddy Matt in Sept 2025.

Full size
I convinced my buddy Matt to join me to tick off another peak off my list, this time Mt Kidd.
It starts with an innocuous easy hike from Galatea to the start of the scramble and goes across
a sweet suspension bridge.

And without the dorks in it.

Look how deep this thing is!

Full size
Matt thought this hike was pretty rad. Not sure about this face though.

Full size
The waterfalls here were pretty awesome.

Full size
We had no problem finding the chains and zipping through here. While not necessary, they made
this section a lot simpler.

Full size
Yeah, so this was where the actual scrambling started. We decided to veer a bit further to climber's
left and start to avoid this mess though.

Matt says this rock is just fine. A bit loose to be fair, but pretty cool.

These goggles are too cool for school.

Full size
A whole lot of loose limestone just waiting for us up here.

Full size
A bit of a look down from the rock and scree.

Full size
Yeah... glad we had a GPX track to follow as it wasn't obvious what the best route was.

Full size
Lots and lots of scree.

Full size
A sweet shot of Matt making his way up the screen with the Kananaskis valley on the left and
the Ribbon Creek on the right.

Full size
I can see the summit!

Full size
A neat shot as I make my way up to the summit and the helipad and the weather station.

A cool look at Mt Bogart, the next target here.

Yours truly next to the weather station.

It's hard to give perspective here to how steep the scree is.

Full size
We wound up a bit off route on the way down, although the GPX said we were spot on. Too much loose
rock for me to say I want to do this route again.

Matt back at the waterfalls on the way out.
